You can rest a little easier each day knowing that your problems are being delt with by God.
Your relationship with God is personal, but your prayers do not have to be. When your part of a church community you can reach out to others. The power of prayer increases as more people pray for the same cause. Your community is here to support you.
What is a Prayer Request?
A Prayer request is a call to your community for help on anything. It can be simple or complex. It can be about anything. It’s a way for your community to support you and you to support your community.
What should you write in a prayer request?
Prayer requests do not have to be long or complex. Just ask for what you need. As a guide you should include:
- A opening line – This should be only a line or two. It should summarize your request. For example: My Child is ill, please pray for his health. or My sister is traveling abroad, please pray for her safe return.
- Add a bit of detail – Here you can explain a few more details, but keep it brief. Think about why this means a lot to you, perhaps provide some details on the situation. Anything you thing would be relevant or important to share with the community.
- Thanking people for their prayers – By their nature a prayer request can feel negative. After all you are asking God for help with a bad situation. Here is an opportuity to add some positivity to your request. For example you could say “I know things are tough now, but I have faith that prayer will help us see better days” Somtime just acknowloging to yourself that your are not alone helps.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
